由先行词it引导的部分强调句,对正常句中的相关成分进行强调。这种句子由it is/was…that.结构构成。在is/was后放入正常句子中要被强调的部分,在that之后放入句子的其他部分。这种结构几乎可以用来强调除动词之外句子中的任何部分,如
My mother threwe an egg at the Minister of Education yesterday.
我母亲昨天向教育大臣扔了个鸡蛋。(正常句式)
It was my mother that threw an egg at the Minister of Education yesterday
是我母亲昨天向教育大臣扔了个鸡蛋。(强调主语)
It was an egg that my mother threw at the Minister of Education yesterday
我母亲昨天向教育大臣扔的是一个鸡蛋。(强调宾语)
It was yesterday that my mother threw an egg at the Minister of education
我母亲是在昨天向教育大臣扔了个鸡蛋。(强调时间状语)
It was the Minister of Education that my mother threw an egg at
我母亲昨天是向教育大臣扔了个鸡蛋。(强调介词宾语)
当使用这种结构强调用人表示的主语时,可以用who取代that,如
It was my mother who threw an egg at the Minister of Education yesterday
是我母亲昨天向教育大臣扔了个鸡蛋。
当使用这种结构强调用人称代词表示的主语时,既可用该人称代词的主格形式,也可用其宾格形式。在非正式文体中,常常使用宾格形式,如:
It was she who
It was her that
正是她
注意强调句和it形式的主语是完全不一样的2中句型。 判断强调句的最好办法是：把It is /was 后的部分放到 that/who 之后的句子里,如果能组成完整的句子,就是强调句,否则就不是.例如： 1.It is the boy who I care for. 把the boy放到后面,是 I care for the boy.句子完整,所以原句是强调句. 2.It is fun that we spend the holiday here. 无论怎样,fun 都不能放到后面组成完整的句子,所以原句不是强调句. 最后列出新概念3中相关强调句：
