worth
worth很多词典将其解释为介词，名词和形容词，牛津词典虽然没将其归为介词，但也说明了其用法和介词一样：
(used like a preposition, followed by a noun, pronoun or number, or by the -ing form of a verb 用法同介词，后接名词、代词、数字或动词的 -ing 形式)：  常用的词组如： worth one's while 值得花时间做某事 worth spending time on You have to wait in line for about an hour, but it will be worth your while. 你需要排队一个小时，但是它值得你等待这些时间。 而复合形容词worthwhile表达的意思也差不多，表示值得花时间（金钱，努力）做的，即重要的，有意义的。 Reading this book will be worthwhile, trust me. = Reading this book will be worth our while. worth还可以当名词，表示价值，如：He bought himself fifty pence worth of trouble. 再如：get one's money's worth 钱花得值to receive good value for what is paid for If we pay this much for dinner, we’d better get our money’s worth. 如果我们需要花这么多钱去吃这顿晚饭的话，我们最好花得值一点。 waste
（钱，时间）花得值可以用worth表达，如果不值了？最直接的表达就是用waste, 如短语a waste of time/money 浪费时间/金钱。

These words all refer to the amount of money that you have to pay for sth. 以上各词均指价值、价钱。

how much sth is worth in money or other goods for which it can be exchanged 指价值：

Especially in British English, value can also mean how much sth is worth compared with its price. 尤其在英式英语中，value 亦含与其价格相比的值、划算程度：

PRICE, COST OR VALUE? 用 price、cost 还是 value？
The price is what sb asks you to pay for an item or service. * price 指商品或服务的要价：
to ask / charge a high price 要价高；收费高
to ask / charge a high cost / value
Obtaining or achieving sth may have a cost; the value of sth is how much other people would be willing to pay for it. * cost 指获取某物或达到某目的所需的费用； value 指别人愿意为某物付出的价值：

expense
the money that you spend on sth; sth that makes you spend money 指所花费用、花钱的东西、开销：

the financial value of sb / sth 指人或物的价值：
He has a personal net worth of $10 million. 他有价值 1 千万元的个人净资产。
Worth is more often used to mean the practical or moral value of sth. * worth 较常用以指某事物的实际作用或道德意义。
